Annual Peacemaker Awards

Accepting Nominations through April 9, 2012

It's that time of year again, when the Community Mediation Center is asking for the community to nominate someone in your life that helps bring peace to you. We have a long-standing history of sponsoring the Annual Peacemaker Event, since 2001. Because we deal with people in conflict everyday, it seems appropriate to us that others are also promoting peace and to acknowledge the peacemakers that are in all our lives on a daily basis. We urge you to consider those you would like to honor.

Nomination forms (closes April 9, 2012):

  • PDF nomination form (700k) for mail or fax submission. Get free Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • As the nominator, you will be asked to come on stage with the person you have nominated and help us recognize them by placing a medallion for Peacemakers over their head. You don’t have to say anything.  We will read what you have written on your nomination form.
Who is a Peacemaker you might ask?  It is someone who:

    • listens thoughtfully,
    • asks insightful questions,
    • encourages clear and respectful communication,
    • welcomes diverse viewpoints,
    • helps people with a multitude of needs to work and live together,
    • helps reconcile parties in conflict
    • and, of course, they must live in our community, in Gallatin or Park counties.

If you know someone like that in your life, you should nominate them for this Award.

    Honoring Groups or Organizations

CMC usually selects one group to honor each year; this year's group has been selected. If you would like to suggest a group of individuals or an organization to be recognized in a future year, please contact our Executive Director. Selecting a group requires advance planning and an understanding of the group, their mission, and its history.
